This one was a little tricky because The Newlyweds’ Window anthology consisted of 12 different short stories by 12 different authors. While there were some stories I absolutely loved or couldn’t stop reading - namely Gasping For Air, Rain, and Our Girl Bimpe - the majority were pretty mediocre and not worthwhile. Some were still interesting like Border Control and Mareba’s Tavern even if I didn’t relate to the content. However, the rest I’ll probably skip if I ever decide to re-read the anthology. Overall it was nice to see so many stories by different authors and I did notice a lot of themes of Christianity, witchcraft, and a very traditional, sexist society where women are controlled by male counterparts. This was an interesting look at the overall culture of the continent and definitely added to my perspective. While I didn’t enjoy all of the stories, I think this anthology has a lot of merit.
