Anthologies are not my favorite to read. I want to be engrossed in the story, and it's hard to do that when there are many stories to read that are so different from each other. This book has 12 different stories by 12 different African authors.
There were some stories I liked, and others that I was just not into. I think that was because there was a lot about the stories that I just could not relate to. Some of those stories included murder, kidnapping, and divorce--it was kind of depressing honestly. I also didn't love that the title of the story was about only one of those short stories in the book, or that the first story to draw you in is about a serial killer. I generally think that this genre of book is just not for me. That is not to say that this book bad, but I did not love the collection as a whole. I have read a few anthologies, but this one is is not for me!
