Overall I really enjoyed this short stories anthology. As someone who is of African descent, I appreciated getting the chance to see so many stories from upcoming African writers.
I loved that all of these stories were #OwnVoices, but that we got to see stories told from different places on the African continent. I liked that the authors' continent of origin is what the anthology was based off of, and that it featured many different genres of stories, rather than having one genre/theme.
I liked that all of the stories didn't have a happily ever after, and that some had room for more. Or at least, they left me wanting more, in a good way. I loved getting a look into the lives of all our different characters, and how their stories were infused with so much culture.
It's so important that voices like these get more and more opportunities to share their stories with the world.
