I loved the different styles and voices in this anthology, and I loved that they were bound together in a way that clearly represented underheard voices. I loved reading about each author's story and learning that there is much more to Africa as a whole than meets the eye. It is usually portrayed in such a way that its poverty. The stories are gritty, and they tell the real tale of those who have lived through them. They are not for the faint of heart, but I loved how raw each story was and how close I felt to each author. There was such a variety in contributors, yet they all made me feel so powerfully. I think there is something marvelous in that, and I loved the way the anthology strung them together.

This was a very interesting read, and although it is a short compendium, it really took me some time to digest all of the information. However, I really suggest you read it. It showcases some of the best work from African writers and feels super authentic.
