I know this is unhelpful but really and truly the only thing I can say is when I read the sneak peek/first glimpse, I just wasn't feeling it. I'm not sure what it is. It definitely has to be at least in part the fact that this seems to be the seventh book (if I remember correctly?) in a series. That alone is four books too many for me to be truly interested. The writing itself was okay, very descriptive but it also felt a bit of out of place in the setting.
