I thought I wouldn't like this, then I read a little more about it and thought I would, then I read the sample and decided I didn't. I don't really like Hui as he leads his friends into foolishness. His response to Kyky's difficulty is lackluster at best. The connection is missing for me, and I don't want to spend a whole book with him. On top of that, the writing style itself isn't really doing it for me. It feels a bit repetitive in language and sometimes literally in what is said, a bit more flowery than I'd like.
