An interesting start to an adventure story. It definitely was an adventure book that was well thought out, but not my cup of tea. I was not immediately hooked, but I can see others liking it. I think if I had read more I would have been drawn further into the adventure and enjoyed it. What I did like was the author letter and heartfelt thought put into it, which would make me not set down and dnf the book and give it more time to let the story grasp me.
The cover was far more interesting to me than the start of the book, I love the contrast of it.
