I loved the opening pages. It was the mini Schnauzer bit that solidified my interest in this book.

Ivy was my favorite character right from the start -- especially when she referenced Harry Potter. Her sassy act made me like her, but her strange relationship with her sister is what made me curious.

Autumn seems like a tough girl, but I wonder what's behind that exterior.

The selling point of this book, though, is its total hold on reality. The teen characters have the adults pegged, right down to Coach Creepo. It makes me even more aware of the fact that kids are very smart. They should be encouraged to trust their instincts.

The dual perspective keeps this story moving at a brisk pace.
