Where do I start? This is described as a YA Thriller, and in a way it is BUT I could NOT GET OVER the authors propaganda of today's rape culture.
"She's a person, & she deserves to be listened to & believed. She deserved so much more than what she got." Basically the author uses the missing mean drug selling back talking Autumn as a metaphor for women who are raped and not taken seriously. I get nobody deserves to be a victim (no matter what it is; rape, abuse, ect) but the author missed the mark in trying to disguise that with this so called "thriller". Don't cover up your agenda. Write a book that will showcase exactly what you are trying say. Because nobody knows this book is for victims and for those who have no voice. It's not marketed it that way and only until you get to the end of the book (if you can even find the strength to finish it)& read the authors note do you see what she was hoping to do. Sigh.
