Okay I am totally fan-girling right now because “The Kinder Poison” is compared to Victoria Aveyard who wrote The Red Queen Quartet which in my opinion is absolute perfection! I can see the relation since both Zahru and Mare both sneak into kingdoms that are well beyond their means.

Also, in Holly Black’s “Cruel Prince” Trilogy it begins by Jude longing to be a part of a place where she does not belong, in the High Court, which is where her live interest resides as well. That same longing to be elsewhere gets Zahru in trouble too.

But, what doesn’t even come remotely close is that she is forced to be the sacrifice at the end of some Hunger Games -ish rat race. How insane!

This is one book that is going on my TBR whether I win or lose Bookish First. It is right up my alley, please pick me & give me all the fantasy !!!

Ps - that cover is amazing!
