Well, I'm not a fan of fantasy fiction, and YA isn't one of my preferred genres, but the young narrator of this story is outstanding! Her voice and outlook pulled me in immediately. No flowery language, no pompous attitude, just an honest, contrite, forthcoming teen telling her tale.
