This sounds like it could be a quick, fun read, but it's not something that would stick with me. The setting, plot, and characters are generic and not well fleshed out. I have no connection to the main character specifically, which isn't good when the story is about the protagonist's survival. The first four chapters also dragged out far too long. This story should have started out with the race that's promised in the blurb.
