Right off the bat from the opening line, I knew that I would really enjoy this book and the excerpt did not disappoint. I was really invested in Zahru's story and her dreams of seeing the world beyond her small desert town, which is quickly turned on its head as the events unfold around her. The excerpt ended at the perfect time, I want to know what happens next! I need more!
I really enjoy Zahru's character as well as Hen's and I am really interested in all the characters as they all seem super fun and unique. I can't wait to learn more about them and see the dynamics created between them all.
The cover is absolutely gorgeous! The purple contrasted with the golden yellow is beautiful and I love the symbolism being played out between the flower and the scorpion - something pretty can hide something dangerous and deadly within. I cannot wait to see how this plays into the story overall!
