The Hiding Girl by Dorian Box has a frightening premise of what happens when a young girl witnesses the murder of her mother and sister and the future effects for what later drives her to revenge on those that destroyed all she loved. She goes from a normal 12 year old girl to grief stricken and changed. This poor girl that was sheltered and loved turns into a hardened person that was forced to survive on her own. She eventually seeks out help from an ex-gang member in her course to get even with those that had wronged her, but all does not go as planned. She is put through the ringer by unexpected dangerous obstacles, but has more strength than anyone her age that proves to be very intense reading.
