The Hiding Girl's main character, Emily - is hellbent on revenge. I don't give spoilers away. I will say she learns many lessons. The characters in the book - from Lucas to the FBI agent to Lucas' girlfriend - are such full characters they each deserve their own book. Thankfully, Emily's story continues.
I was immediately drawn to her story and had trouble putting the book down to even get a glass of water. I was rooting for her throughout the book. It's not your typical revenge for a crime book. The maturity and changes Emily experiences are written in a way that it is easy to picture everything in the book - the scenes, the characters, the situations.
The flashbacks do not interrupt the current scene - which I find rare in a book. The ending feels natural - even though the series will continue.
