I really wanted to like this as it has great reviews but it didn't work for me. The story started out great and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. The plot quickly became so hard to believe that I couldn't even finish the book (I did read the first 19 chapters so made it about halfway through). It was strange that the people she encountered were so keen to help and I found it a little disturbing in the ways they tried to help her. I mean she was a 12 year old girl so it just made me uncomfortable. The book reads like a YA novel but the content would be too mature for young adults to read. It was just an odd combo of innocence and violence that in the end just wasn't working for me.
