The book starts off with Emily being suspicious of some strangers on their property, and that's basically the only info you get about why Emily left home. Throughout the rest of the chapters, we find out more about Emily, about where she's going and why, and it leaves me wondering where she's going to go next, how she got there, what happened to her family, and how the rest of the series will go.
