This was such an interesting first look because it throws you into Emily's world, and from the very first moment you can feel on edge just like Emily likely did. A general sense of unease surrounds the two men, and even more so when Emily begins questioning them, and you just know something bad is bound to happen. I think this read will be quite interesting to see how Emily, the twelve-year-old, manages in the world on her own after something like this! The cover is quite interesting and the color contrast does draw you in!
