Everything is too convenient
The first thing I thought about what I read in the first look was that Emily should be in high school. To have a twelve-year-old running around, knowing how to lie to strangers convincingly, avoid security cameras and track down fake drivers licenses, all only a month after her parent's death seems too convenient for the storyline.
I was really intrigued by the blurb, but after reading the first look it just seems like it will be convenient plot points that an adult would do, getting a twelve-year-old out of trouble.
