Emily is my kind of spirited kid. I knew from the moment she spotted the men in her drive she was one to take charge. I'm not surprised she survived the horrors inflicted upon the rest of her family given her take-charge attitude, carrying her little sister inside, and trying to hurry her mom away from the two.
I'd be interested to know what happened to her dad, who sounds like the one who taught her to face life straight on no matter what comes your way. And to be prepared, like the cash in the box, for the dangers of life.
Does she find the men? Why did they pick her family? And why kill them?
I've got to read this book!
The cover, to me, doesn't show clearly the determination and grit on Emily's face. She deserves bold strokes and vivid colors that burst forth announcing 'Here I am!'
Were I to win, I will no doubt devour this book swiftly, just as I hope Emily will do once she delivers justice to those who stole her life.
