Having read Melissa de la Cruz's works before I went into this book with very high expectations, and she more than met them! There is a lot going on in this novel, including a car accident, relationship infidelity, memory loss, alcohol misuse, and PTSD. This book expertly blended all of these themes to provide an amazing narrative. I also liked the characters Ms. Cruz created in this book. Her discussion on the variety of experiences and influences that young adults can have throughout that stage of their lives struck a chord with me. The character of Ripley the dog was a great addition. The pace of this book was so rapid that I struggled to turn the pages. I was unable to flip the pages of this book quickly enough to reach the satisfying conclusion. This book has excellent, surprising twists and turns. Definitely looking forward to reading more in the near future from Melissa de la Cruz!
