I sped through this YA thriller! Set at an elite private school in LA, it has all the elements that hook me in- wealthy teens, a true crime podcast, a private school, and a crime that is not as it initially appears. Spencer, Ethan, Tabby and Chris are all the traditional characters you would expect, however, the real star of the book is Ripley the dog.
While the book felt a little long in parts, the short chapters and podcast transcripts kept me engaged. The plot line was a bit predictable and I correctly guessed what would happen, but I did not anticipate the twist at the end and that alone is worth the read! I rated this book 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for the last few chapters alone. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone who might be put off by traditional thrillers or looking for a fast paced read with short chapters.
