The Headmaster's List is definitely trying to be a fast-paced, thriller where unexpected tidbits might arise as you get further into the story. In addition to the narrative chapters, there are other documents and sources incorporated into the story (in the first impression, this includes a police report and the transcript of a podcast) to offer other perspectives, salient facts or context details. But the overall story didn't really capture my attention and most of the characters - portrayed as extremely wealthy and privileged - just aren't compelling enough for me to want to learn more. Given that this first impression is very short (29 pages), it's possible that the story will improve - hopefully.
