Even as an adult, I enjoy YA fiction. This one caught my attention as a crime mystery and immediately I was drawn to the very realistic emotions of Spencer in the immediate aftermath of waking in the hospital. Without spoiling to much, she struggles to comprehend what happened and remember what everyone wants to know. It's very modern and will appeal to audiences as they can hear the podcasts in their head, understand the trauma these kids are going through, and wonder just how they are going to cope. I would recommend it to students who are interested in mysteries and thrillers.
