Like several others, I was intrigued by the book summary and the title of the novel. After reading the first couple of chapters my interest started to wane. Based on the reading the main character appears to be a Poirot type character, a Frenchman with great skills of observation, set in modern times. Unfortunately, he also appears dismissive of female characters and can't even be bothered to learn their names unless they flirt with him. I'll pass on reading the full version for that reason alone.
