I was definitely drawn in by the summary of Gerald Jay's "The Hanged Man's Tale". I didn't find the actual text as enthralling as I was hoping it would be, but it still kept me engaged to a point. It would be a book I'd consider checking out. It may be one that grows on the reader as it continues on.
