Are reading this novel, “The Girl in Cell 49B” by Dorian Box in less than 5 days I found myself sorry to realize that I had just read the last page and no more would follow. This novel is the second book in the Emily Calby series. This is something I was not aware of at the time and now after having finished this novel I have ordered the first novel as well even though this novel and complex storyline deserves to stand up on its own without needing to read the first novel to fully grasp and enjoy the developing plot.
Emily emerges as a truly strong and brilliant female character in this well paced and perfectly developed plot. Apparently the survivor of a brutal home invasion 3 years prior Emily is living in comparative isolation wanting to remain as anonymous as possible in her new existence. As the story develops this apparently is no longer possible for her!
