Thank you for the chance to read and review this book. It is the first book I have read from this author but it will not be the last one. The main character, Emily Calby is still living with Lucas Jackson after fleeing from the home invasion that killed her mother and younger sister. She then met Lucas who is an ex gang member when she contacted him to obtain a false ID but instead of who he was expecting, Emily shows up. Now on Emily’s 16th birthday she receives a 9 millimeter hand gun and her life changes completely. Lucas is not happy about the gun. Emily ends up being stopped by the police and they fingerprint her and her true identity is revealed. She is then taken to prison. She is faced with many challenges while there. I never read the first book, Hiding Girl, but this one is great as a stand alone. I loved it so much I could not but it down until I finished it.
