The Girl in Cell 49B stars Emily Calby, the victim of a home invasion in The Hiding Girl. This book neatly gives her backstory, sets the scene for this book, and draws the reader in. I'm excited to continue and, while the synopsis says it works like a standalone, seriously tempted to go back and read The Hiding Girl first!
