I received Book one as an ARC from Netgalley, but the cover wasnt appealing so I kept pushing it aside for something else to read. Boy was I wrong!!! Dorian writes in a succinct, efficient way that without over elaboration had you caught up and completely into Emily's character by the end of chapter one. She is well developed, tough and resourceful..she would make a mean assassin in future books. Dorian also paints a bleak picture of our juvenile justice system, which treats children as less than deserving of fair treatment. This is a freight train of a book, and I cannot wait to be able to turn the next page. Set aside an afternoon, you wont want to put this down!
