I'll be honest and say that I went into this book pretty hesitant, mainly because self-help books don't typically resonate with me. But since I had the opportunity to read this book, I thought I would give it a chance since all self-help books aren't the same. Unfortunately, however, this just wasn't the right book for me.
To me personally, it felt a lot more like a memoir than it did a self-help book. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for someone seeking advice, I'm not sure that they would necessarily get what they want out of this book. (Then again, there seem to have been readers who did get something out of this book, so that's wonderful! I think it just depends on the reader.) With that said, there were certainly parts of Amber's story that a sensitive person can relate to, so I appreciate reading those elements.
Hopefully this book will continue to read the audience it's meant to reach!
