First, I found it odd that our excerpt began with chapter 4. Made me wonder whether the beginning was too boring or whether it might have offered a more interesting introduction to the topics at hand. But it likely didn't matter. Self-help gurus touting their brand of magic generally don't work for me. This is no exception. I found the writing dry and the content self-indulgent.
