“Nathan would have programmed her, after all, to want this more than anything. But then, he would also should have programmed her not to ask questions like “what if”. At least, that’s what I would have done, if I had I was going to build a perfect, docile version of myself. I couldn’t help but feel a twitch of satisfaction: of course Nathan would cut that corner. He was always sloppy.”

I I really thought this book would take a completely different direction. Maybe it’s my cynicism, or maybe it’s because I’ve read so many books where when I feel paranoid it’s later validated. But, this book wasn’t like that, and I really enjoyed it. it kind of reminded me of the book The Heirarchies by Ros Anderson, but a more human feel.

Also, the twist at the end had me shocked. Shook. Shock. Surprised. All the S words. The Echo Wife was brilliantly crafted and such a quick read. With just a little over 250 pages, this is a quick, but absolutely thrilling read.
