I was excited to read this excerpt, from the strength of the claims made in the synopsis. That being said, I was underwhelmed from the beginning. I am not a fan of the writing style, as the sentences were choppy and lacking dimension. With very few pages on which to judge the entire book, I can only hope that the author settled into the characters and the plot. The Echo Wife would usually be my type of read, but I am skeptical that the novel would hold my interest.
