Protagonist Evelyn clearly functions in a world of her making where her passion (and her job) is the priority, and everything else is background noise. Possibly great for the rest of the world, maybe not so great for any personal life or friends Evelyn wants to have. Which is why her husband leaves her. While the preview doesn't get far enough into what the synopsis talks about, it is interesting - even if the protagonist is not the slightest bit empathetic and the writing more science heavy than the average reader is likely used to.
