These first three chapters set up so much, from ground breaking research, to a verbally abusive ex-husband, to a brilliant scientist. Evelyn is brilliant, as she's managed to create adult human clones with personality, but her ex-husband keeps overshadowing her work and the price of fame among scientists is grating. It's a great start.
