The moment readers' eyes have moved down page one, they will sense that something is amiss. The banquet hall is filled with what is described as intellectual luminaries, and Evelyn the honoree is being told that she is being honored and celebrated for creating this legacy. However, Evelyn's one-time partner, Nathan had made demeaning comments, telling her not to fidget or she would look like her mother. Just when a reader wonders what the big event is celebrating, the second chapter makes a reference to "telomere financing to extend the lives of research subjects." But there is also mention of Evelyn's former partner having a new fiance'. Unfortunately for me, all the copies available to obtain with points are gone. Now I have to hope I'm a lucky winner.
