I think this one hit a little close to home, as I finished it RIGHT after I had been released from a several day jury selection. Other than the part of this book that dealt with the court case, I enjoyed the read.

The main character of this book has a very bad few weeks. He is a lawyer that gets intwined in some brutal murders that have ties to old cases of a serial killer. The daughter of the newest victim hires him to handle her father's estate, which pulls John into a confusing romantic tryst that complicates his rocky marriage.

Probably the worst thing that occurs is he then gets kidnapped by the murder, who shares some troubling details of his past that he was previously unaware of. The problems don't stop there, but this book certainly made me feel good that the most exciting thing that happens to me is a new movie gets released on Netlflix.

A good read!
