With unlikeable characters and gruesome images (metaphorically speaking), this novel is probably not for everybody. Fortunately, the descriptions weren't over the top. To me, the novel has the right amount of description to keep the reader engaged and able to visualize the setting or the plot in the story. Basically, "The Company of Demons" is a good thriller based on an actual serial killer which is pretty crazy (if one thinks about it)!
I think I'd probably prefer to read this novel in 3rd person point of view. Even if this was the case, the author did a pretty good job in writing 1st person. It had the right kind of voice for the age of the protagonist. Besides this, I thought this book showed so much promise. It has the potential of becoming someone's favorite suspense story.
