I like mysteries/thrillers so I decided to give this one a chance. While I like a good flawed character, I am not a fan of a cheating spouse. That's one deterrent. The main character needs to be at least a little bit likeable and relatable, and while I can sympathize with his past, it doesn't necessarily excuse the present. The writing style was fine with a lot of fleshed out detail, albeit a little on the rough side. Again, this is a thriller/mystery so that is pretty much to be expected, but this one is maybe a little darker and a little more grizzly than what I generally prefer. I'm sure that many people will enjoy this book, but it's just not for me. If you can stomach the rough stuff and don't mind a seriously flawed protagonist, you'll be fine.
