I was quite intrigued by the synopsis for this book. A troubled lawyer with a dark past. A shocking killing that reflects crimes from decades ago. Tangled family drama between the victims children and the lawyer. It sounded so promising with so many elements that I enjoy... complicated characters, mysteries and complex relationships.
And even though I thought I would love this book, I just could not get into it. All the elements that were promised just did not materialize they way I had hoped. The book was too long and drawn out and explained so many things in way too many details. And it just seemed like it kept adding more and more things trying to make the plot twist more and more. I think it would have been better if it made things a little more simplified...
