I wanted to like John Coleman, but I was never able to love him. He is a deeply flawed character and I found myself wanting him to win the case, but his decisions in the past and recent past have stacked the cards against him.
I really liked the storyline, though most people can figure out that he is headed for trouble way before he can. I liked the way the book started to end, not knowing what happened to Jennifer and the Torso-murderer and then wrapping it up at the very end.
I was hoping for a bit more in the court scene, since we saw so much of the beginning witness statements, but were not able to see any statements relating to Jennifer's guilt in the situation.
The novel was well-written with good pace and I definitely can recommend it to a few of my friends.
