Great writing style and compelling plot

This book was a little harder for me to get going than I had originally anticipated. However, I think this is at least in some part due to the book being different than the bulk of what I generally read entails. The writing alone had a very smart and grown up feel to it and I really enjoyed the plot. I’m a huge fan of the mystery and thriller genre, so I had high expectations for this novel. Overall, I was not disappointed! I enjoyed the characters, the conflict, the murder solving, and the writing style immensely. I think the only thing that really played any part in making me give this book a three star rating, instead of four, was that it was a little too slow in a few places. Of course, a book can’t be high pace at every word, so I admit this may just be my own stylistic opinion, rather than a hard criticism on the book. Definitely would recommend to a grown up audience who enjoys the thriller/mystery genre!
