This book gets off to a quick pace with the action starting right at the first sentence. Descriptions were vivid and situations were believable. I'm not usually excited about a crime novel, but I liked the characters enough that I would probably follow them on their journey.
It was interesting to hear about the specific details of the moment where they discover the body--there were some excellent, visceral descriptions. I did find it maybe a little bit too gory, but that could also just be the convention of this genre.
I don't tend to read a lot of this genre, but I would most definitely pick up a copy of this book for myself or for a friend. There was enough intrigue in this narrative to make me want to read more!
