The characters were compelling and breathed life into the narrative. I was anxious to see where it was going to go because in a short time I became invested in the characters and what fate was to befall them. The first few chapters give a wonderful taste of the plot and leave the reader expectant for more.
I think the tone is fast paced and informal, makes for a very enjoyable read, one that doesn't require a pause after every sentence to comprehend what happened. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend seeking a taut thriller with believable characters who have real personalities that just leap off of the pages. Some books are good becuase of the story, some because of the characters...but a rare few achieve both.
