Intriguing premise: the son of a disgraced detective who comes face-to-face (well, torso in this case) with the victim of a seriously disturbed individual. I feel that John has a lot he can tell the readers. He seems jaded and frustrated, but I want to know what caused that and what else lies beneath the surface. This first impression introduces the reader to a seedy crime, but leaves them with more questions than answers.
