I am not sure if this was intentional, but the entire time I was reading the first few chapters to this book, I had visions of stereotypical private eye type story. Even the typeface lent to this feeling - but maybe this is only me that feels this.
I have been known to be interested in local crime stories, so this story was right up my alley.
