Some mixed thoughts from me
Thank you to Bookish First and Welbeck Publishing Group for the ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I would give this book a solid 3.5 stars. If it weren't for the Bookish First raffle, I probably would not have even heard about this book. It was a somewhat different genre for me. The storyline follows John Milton, who is an agent and is dealing with some pretty serious gang crime and rioting in London. I liked the relationship that he built with Elijah, and I was really hoping that Milton could keep him out of trouble for good. I would have liked to know more about the relationship between Sharon (Elijah's mother) and Milton but this was not a romance novel by any means. Without giving away the spoilers, the "bad guys" were eliminated and Milton remains on the run. However, there are definitely many loose ends that I feel weren't quite tied together. I believe this book is in a series, however, I most likely will not continue with the series.
