I will preface this review by saying that I won a copy of this novel via a BookishFirst raffle. Thanks to BookishFirst for my copy!

So I am a big fan of thrillers, but more-so family feud meets psychological thriller type. I am not usually the one to read in-the-streets thrillers like this one. This was full of action, drama, and a pretty decent storyline. It just didn't hit the mark for me in terms of keeping my interest and really drawing me in. It took me quite a while to get to the end of this as I just kept putting it down and coming back to it, in all honesty.

I did like the character dynamics, particularly the relationship between Milton and Elijah. In later books, it would be interesting to see this dynamic as well as any further interesting relationships Milton forms with other characters.

But I digress -

Overall, this series looks like once it is given time and patience, it will definitely pay off. It wasn't quite my cup of tea, but that's no fault to the author at all. If you like crime thrillers that take place in the U.K or just metropolitan crime thrillers overall, definitely go pick this one up.
