I actually liked this book a lot more than I thought I would. Milton is an assassin, there just isn't a better word for it. But he wants out, and he didn't complete his last mission to his ageny's satisfaction. When he saves the life of a down on her luck single mom, he gets embroiled in her life, and the life of her son Elijah. Elijah has a chip on his shoulder a mile wide, something to prove, and has been given the opportunity to move up in the gang he's joined. Milton tries to prevent this, and as he goes to war with a gang leader and famous rapper, he uses everything he learned at the agency (and more) to try and make sure that Elijah's future isn't as dire as his older brothers. Elijah's brother got caught up in the gang life too, and now hes a drug addict. Fast paced once you get to the meat of the story and action packed. Will Milton survive taking on an entire gang alone? Will the agency "retire" their best asset? The story takes you on a journey for sure and I definitely enjoyed the ride!
